. . . ...... Half a year has passed since the trip where I held my camcorder tight (not to miss a single moment of, so-called, 'reality' as a tourist, artist, onlooker) as our crew ventured through the 11th Bienal de La Habana. This is my recollection, edited down to a 32minute anthropological video of non-stop tourism, drama, horror and humanity, only as a strict third party observer (well, as always, I can't help myself from occasionally showing up on camera here and there as a watermark).

The Habana Bienal: An Alternative from the Perspective of Difference was a graduate course offered in the Spring 2012 Semester at SFAI that consisted of a trip to Cuba from May 13th - 25th where the SFAI students engaged with the students from the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA), conducted independent research, participated in educational activities presented by the Biennial and further experienced the arts and culture of Cuba - a nation that has been divided from the US through embargo since the early 1960s.
