"tourist photo 📷: #tourist" (2016) is an ongoing project in collaboration with visitors of San Francisco's World Famous Crookedest Street, Lombard Street.

Powell-Hyde cable car on Hyde and Lombard Street, San Francisco, 2016
Overlooking Telegraph Hill and the bay, Lombard Street is a San Francisco landmark that attracts people from all over the world. This scenic location is also where the Powell-Hyde cable car stops and drops off new groups of people every few minutes. In addition to observing the stunning view, visitors use smartphones or ipads to digitally 'check-in' (geotag) and take photos for each other. Electronic recording devices become a point for real-time encounter, opposed to an isolated experience through the screen. Inspired by these temporary interactions between strangers, I asked "tourists" to take photo portraits of me and in return offered to take photos for them.
